Yorkshire won the toss and decided to bat on very wet pitch.
Ryan Senior bowled well taking 4-45, whilst our other bowlers sent down 20 wides and 4 no-balls - possibly the difference between the two sides.
Cheshire's chase never got going and only Simon Stokes with 27 showed any application.
Thanks must go to the Marple groundstaff for their hard work, and to both teams for giving it a go in very wet conditions.

CHESHIRE 'A' v DURHAM ACADEMY

Durham 21-0

Durham won the toss and inserted Cheshire on a wet pitch.
Cheshire declared on 165-6 from 65 overs with Chris Davies making 46 and Simon Stokes 32 in tough conditions. Neston's David Hurst made a good 25.
Durham were 21-0 from 9.2 overs when rain stopped play at 3.41pm on the first day.
Heavy overnight rain meant there was no chance of any play on the second day.

Yorkshire Academy 195-9 (T.Young 3-52,R.Senior 3-57) & 24-1.

Yorkshire won the toss and inserted Cheshire on yet another damp pitch.
Cheshire struggled to 93 all out from 49.3 overs with Chester Boughton Hall's Matt Griffiths looking in very good form with 47.
Yorkshire declared on 195-9 late on the first day. Creditable bowling performances by Ryan Senior 3-37, Tom Young 3-52 and Danny berry 2-49 made the day more pleasing after a very poor batting display. However, when we went out to bat in our 2nd Innings we lost Simon Stokes in the final over of the day.
Day 2 proved far more positive for Cheshire when we put in a fine batting performance to reach 269 all out from 66.4 overs with fine knocks from Chester's Freddie Owen 68 and Matt Griffiths 59; and Winnington Park skipper Jeremy Casey 61. Useful contributions also came from Ryan Senior 26 and Ian Spencer 21.
This left Yorkshire with a target of 168 from about 28 overs play. They had reached 24-0 from 7 overs when heavy rain abandoned the match at 4.20pm

CHESHIRE'A' v STAFFORDSHIRE DEVELOPMENT XI
at Middlewich CC 31 July - Lost by 8 wickets

Cheshire 248-6 (C.P.Davies 105*, W.Goodwin 52)
Staffordshire Development XI 252-2

Cheshire won the toss and decided to bat on an excellent pitch at the very picturesque setting of Middlewich CC on a fine sunny day.
Cheshire made 248-6 from their 50 overs with Chris Davies carrying his bat for a fine 105 not out, Warren Goodwin hit 52, and Widnes's Danny Naughton scored a quick fire 28.
Staffordshire paced the run chase perfectly reaching their target from 48.2 overs for the loss of only two wickets. Nantwich opening bowler James Warrington bowled very well on his debut.
It was disappointing that we sent down 15 wides and 9 no-balls which like the fixture against Yorkshire Academy earlier in the season was the difference between the two sides.
