DUFFY DELIGHTS AS CHESHIRE XI DEFEAT COUNTY LEAGUE XI

FOUR
members of Cheshire County Cricket Club first team played for
a select County team in a special 20/20 match to celebrate the
opening of Compstall Cricket Club's new pavilion recently.
And it was middle-order batsman James Duffy who was the star of
the show with a fine innings of 87 as Cheshire won by 49 runs.
Hyde's Duffy and fellow club and county teammates Daniel Berry
and Tom Young also played, along with Cheshire skipper Andy Hall.
They were joined by former Cheshire off-spinner Andy Greasley,
who is now playing for Marple in the Cheshire County League.
Watched by Mike Gatting, the ECB's Managing Director of Cricket
- who was at Compstall to officially open the new pavilion - Duffy
crashed 9 fours and 7 sixes as the County XI scored 175-7 in their
20 overs.
In reply the County League XI were bowled out for 126 in 19.3
overs. Greasley led the way with a fine 4-13 return from three
overs, while fellow off-spinner Berry impressed with 2-13 from
three overs.
